Tell us about yourself.
I have been
married for almost two years to Carmen who also goes to CFR. My wife
and I enjoy cooking and often have “supper club” with our friends. I
have recently been getting into photography and one day I hope to have
as many cameras as Julie. We also have a 1 year old chocolate lab,
just to make life even more interesting!
How were you introduced to CrossFit?
I was
introduced to CrossFit by Giles and Sonja. My first workout was “Pet
Rock”—I didn’t think I wanted to come back after but everyone was so
encouraging that I was hooked.
What is your favorite WOD/Lift?
My favorite lift is the deadlift and the rack jerk. I think that my favorite WODs are “300″ and Karen.
What is your favorite skill/movement that you have learned at CFR?
I didn’t think
that I would ever be able to do a deadhang pullup—that was a really big
deal that I was able to accomplish that.
One word to describe me would be…
Calm
I have always wanted…
One of my
dreams has been to travel in Europe. Carmen and I will be going to the
UK next July for a wedding and then we plan to travel for a few weeks
after the wedding.
Outside of the gym, I like to…
Watch as much
sports as my wife will allow me to watch. I also collect wine and I
like reading about all of the different wines of the world.
Three things you would always find in my fridge…
Eggs, carrots, and cheese.
Something nobody knows about me or would be surprised to know about me…
I can’t think of anything that would surprise anyone.
Favorite physical activity outside of CFR…
I have recently taken up cycling.
Favorite place to eat in Regina…
I enjoy eating at home; I like my cooking more than most restaurants.
What is your day job?
I am a Business Analyst for the Public Employees Pension plan and I have worked for Saskatchewan Finance for 8 years.

My proudest accomplishment is…
Getting married to Carmen, and winning the men’s Div 2 at the Regina Spring Fling was pretty good too.
My six month goal is…
Deadlift 500lbs, bench press 300lbs and back squat 375lbs and have a sub 20 minute “300″.

I enjoy working out with everyone. It is always such a great environment at CFR.
Why Crossfit?
It has been one
of the best things I have ever done, I have become stronger and
healthier than I would ever have thought possible. It has been such a
great way to meet so many wonderful people, everyone has similar goals
and it’s great to see others achieve their goals.
